How Fluid Analysis Works
Ever wondered what’s going on inside your generator – but don’t
want to dissemble it to find out? Our Fluid Analysis Program lets you
“see” inside by sampling oil, fuel and coolant and then testing them for
various telltale indicators.
It is a vital preventive maintenance tool, currently only available in
North America, which can help you identify small problems before
they become costly failures. Proactively addressing these problems
maximizes asset reliability, optimizes equipment performance, and
improves efficiency. Using fluid testing regularly can help keep
your generator up and running for decades to come.

Every fluid has a story to tell
Coolant
Kohler offers a range of tests for different fluids which can
reveal a great deal about the inner workings of your generator.
Coolant tests (SVC058) monitor all coolants for metal
corrosion, inhibitor levels, contamination, and the ability
to control fluid temperature.
Oil
Diesel fuel
Basic engine testing (SVC056) examines oil for
contamination such as water, dirt, wear metals, and
coolant. Advanced engine testing (SVC057) evaluates
the oil’s ability to continue protecting the system and
allows you to optimize drain intervals.
Diesel fuel test packages offer regular screening
in addition to the ability to troubleshoot if you’re
experiencing problems. These are available in three
packages: Basic Diesel Fuel Test Kit (SVC059),
Basic Diesel Fuel + Biodiesel Test Kit (SVC062), and
Advanced Diesel Fuel Test Kit (SVC064)
