Solution
In the world of disaster response, no one succeeds
alone. Nixon Power Services has built a culture of
teamwork and preparation that enables their DRT
to face even the most daunting obstacles. “Every
storm has its own particular challenges… We
rely upon our senior team leads to mentor their
teams,” says Austin. Mentorship and collaboration
are vital, and each member of the DRT is highly
experienced, particularly when it comes to
troubleshooting and repairing generators on the
go. “You have to have a full understanding of how
the generators work and an inventory that would
blanket most repairs… It ends up being $60,000+
worth of inventory on a truck,” says Shular. With
such extensive groundwork, the DRT is ready to
face anything that comes its way. The level of
preparation goes beyond just having the right
tools. Nixon’s DRT has honed the skills to tackle
any situation, whether that means navigating
treacherous terrain or managing complex repairs
under extreme pressure.
Result
Restoring power in the aftermath of a disaster
is a demanding task, but for Nixon Power
Services’ DRT, the rewards are immeasurable.
“After transitioning from the military… it filled a
void of actually making an impact on the greater
community and helping people,” says Austin.
For Devin Simon, the most rewarding aspect is
the ability to help people get back to their lives.
“Just to know that we’re helping after the storm
to get people’s lives back to normal as quick as
possible,” he says. Braving disasters to restore
power is a complex but rewarding task. Nixon
Power Services’ DRT rises to every challenge,
tackling disasters of any size with unmatched
expertise and unwavering dedication.
